Serena has expertise in transportation and clean energy policy and supports managing Better World Group’s clean energy and electrification portfolio.

Serena leads campaigns aimed at accelerating zero-emission solutions for the industrial sector. She supports and facilitates a growing network of advocates working to achieve zero-emissions in both the industrial and building sectors. Serena helps prepare and implement legislative and regulatory strategies that advance policy and technological solutions to reduce climate pollution and provide benefits to environmental justice and low-income communities.

Additionally, Serena supported campaigns aimed at advancing zero-emission regulations and policies for the shipping industry. She conducted targeted research and effectively provided strategic communication recommendations to support advocacy efforts. Serena also contributed to local grassroots advocacy at the Port of Los Angeles by coordinating media opportunities with attendees and developing social media content.

Furthermore, Serena played a key role in campaigns focused on decreasing tailpipe pollution from cars and trucks throughout various U.S. states. She supported coalitions consisting of equity, health, labor, faith, and environmental groups, backing their efforts to encourage their states to adopt California's clean car and clean truck standards.

Before joining Better World Group, Serena worked as a Chemist, testing cannabis products and nutraceuticals for heavy metals. Serena holds a Master of Science in Sustainability Management and Policy from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In her spare time, Serena likes to spend time outdoors, watching movies, and practicing Muay Thai Kickboxing.
