Our Team / Colleen Easler
Colleen Easler (she/her) provides support to various projects across the firm’s work.
Colleen is an environmental justice professional that is committed to a holistic, intersectional approach to climate change and brings a diverse background in equitable access to the environment and health resources as well as policy advocacy.
Prior to joining Better World Group, Colleen earned a bachelor’s degree from Occidental College with a major in urban and environmental policy and a minor in public health. During her final year, she completed an independent capstone project on the intersection of sustainability and student life. This project sought to analyze how students at Occidental use and interact with outdoor spaces on campus, as well as how these patterns can inform a campus design that is both environmentally and culturally sustainable as the College grapples with the growing demands of climate change. Her research informed the Climate Action Plan of the newly revived Office of Sustainability at Occidental.
During her undergraduate, Colleen also had the opportunity to explore the intersections of climate and food justice more deeply outside of the classroom. She supported the work of Food Access Los Angeles in building sustainable and accessible food systems and was part of a team of researchers that analyzed the equity and efficiency of Food Forward’s food distribution processes. Colleen is eager to further develop her research and analysis skills through work on a range of climate justice issues at BWG and hopes to pursue a Master of Environmental Science and Management.
Colleen enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring California, reading, and cooking/sharing a meal with her friends and family in her free time.
